Långban Mining Village

Welcome to one of the world’s richest mineral sites. These minerals were formed 1,8 billion years ago but it wasn’t until the 16th century that iron ore was mined. At the beginning of the 1970’s the mines were silenced for ever. However the mining sites are still alive with their buildings, mineral collections, exhibitions, beautiful surroundings, interesting stories and memories sprung from days gone by.
