Parking
There´s a big parking lot, 50 meters south of the museum. 2 parking spaces are equipped with charing posts for electric cars. You can pay for your parking via credit card or by downloading Easypark or Parkster through Appstore/Google Play.
Two parking spaces for the disabled are located right next to the museum entrance.
Train
From the railway station, Karlstad C, you walk Järnvägsgatan north until you reach the Western Bridge. There, at Solastatyn, turn right and follow Museigatan along Klarälven. At the end of the street you are met by the Museum Park and see Värmlands Museum on the other side of the park. The walk is about 900 meters.
Bus
From Karlstad bus station, go east along Drottninggatan. At Järnvägsgatan, go north until you reach the Western Bridge. There, at Solastatyn, turn right and follow Museigatan along Klarälven. At the end of the street you are met by the Museum Park and see Värmlands Museum on the other side of the park. The walk is about 1 kilometer.
Värmlandstrafik’s county buses
Get off at the Stora Torget stop. From there you go north along Västra Torggatan, about 500 meters.
Karlstad city buses
The nearest stop is Vårdcentralen Gripen. From there you go north along Västra Torggatan, about 250 meters.
At Värmlands Museum there´s free internet access for all guests through the network Museum Guest. You don’t need a password to connect, but have to agree with our terms when you connect your device.
It is permitted to photograph and film for non-commercial purposes in the museum’s exhibitions, provided that nothing else is stated at the exhibition entrance. Feel free to share your photos on social media with #värmlandsmuseum and tag @varmlandsmuseum.
Remember not to photograph or film other visitors unless they have given their consent.
It is possible to hang outerwear next to the reception at the museum. There are also lockers where you can store things for free during the visit. The cabinets are locked with a key.
Värmlands Museum is not responsible for any valuables stored in the lockers.
Strollers
The museum has no space set aside for pram parking, but we have plenty of space and prams are of course welcome in our premises. Show consideration for the passability of other visitors if you put the cart away and remember not to leave any valuables unattended.
Changing tables
Changing tables are available adjacent to the toilets in both museum buildings.
Brought food
Food and drinks are not allowed in the museum’s exhibitions, but it is possible to eat brought food in a separate room on the entrance level. In fine weather, you can sit out in one of the museum’s courtyards.
No animals other than guide dogs are allowed at Värmlands Museum.
