The dream of school

About Romanis rights to education

“I am 72 years old and not able to read and write. I have never been to any real school because we didn’t live in just one place. That’s the worst thing you can imagine. Really the worst thing you can imagine. “

– Marianne Demeter

The dream of school – About Romanis struggle for education is an exhibition of stories, pictures and documents about Romani schooling from school camps in the 1940s until today. A reality lurked by discrimination, discrimination and prejudices. But also about the struggle, the will and the dream of knowledge. The exhibition is produced by Hälsingland Museum / Rot production.
