One of the best things you could do is just to sit down in one of many ­relaxing spots on the farm. Whether it is  in the courtyard, or pleasure garden and apple orchard, enjoy the special atmosphere of this unique place

Guided tours

Tours every day within opening hours at 12, 14 & 16. Duration 45 minutes During the tour, the main house is closed to other visitors. Pre-registration is made in the café or online. Included in admission.

The Pleasure & Herb Gardens

Gardens for both utility and pleasure were ­extremely important at the time. The pleasure garden for recreation and as a status symbol, the utility garden necessary for self-sufficiency. The estate records list a variety of garden tools such as gravel shovels, garden shears and grafting saws. Don’t miss to take a stroll to smell the herbs and flowers. Read more here.

The apple orchard

The von Echstedtska manor is a local ­clon­archive for apple varieties in Värmland and part of the national gene bank for the ­preservation of cultivated diversity. There are a total of 26 different apple varieties with origins from or connections to Värmland – ­the region where our country’s perhaps foremost pomologist Carl G. Dahl spent his childhood. Playing like in the 18th century

For all those who want to play, there are ­classic toys to borrow, like stilts to test on the grass.

How did people dress in the 18th century?

Choose from our costumes in 18th century style to try on. You find the costumes in the gazebo ­for­ ­children and accompanied by adults to try. How did people dress in the 18th century? What were the clothes made of?Were there buttons? How does it feel to walk around in homespun wool trousers or an undergarment in linen? Here you can try them on, get ­dressed and take a selfie!
