About Torsby Finnish Settlement Centre

A visit here is the perfect place to start before hiking to one of the Finn settlements, which are unique in the world, and located right nearby. Here, we tell the stories of people who have lived and worked for centuries in what came to be known as the Finnskogen area. A forest that goes on for many miles, and is full of tradition, folklore, mystery and breathtaking nature.

The Torsby Finnish Settlement Centre is a museum and an important meeting-place. We work to preserve and highlight the history of this area. We wish to give you knowledge of the past, and a new perspective on the life of the present.
